Our great big plans for 2025

Funicular has been a lot of things to a lot of people. It’s a place to read great writing, a place to get published for the first time, a place that pays writers, and a place to direct all your scorn and anger about the state of the known publishing universe. The point is we have been doing this for awhile, and we’d like to keep going.

Some changes are coming.

Basically, after five years we realized that we are not charging enough for this magazine. It looks too good to cost this little. In 2025 the cover price of the magazine is going up a little. It just makes sense. Inflation and whatnot.

Some things stay the exact same.

FUNICULAR INFINITE is the coolest thing we’ve ever done. The cost of a subscription is not going to change. It’s honestly a terrible financial decision to not subscribe to this magazine.

We’re here for the long haul!

In 2025 we plan to release three more beautiful issues. We plan to attend the AWP Conference and Book Fair in
Los Angeles in March and we hope to meet many past, present, and future contributors and subscribers.
